Remembering the days of old when I was super into floral accessories; I believe this gem was from 2014. Heading to L.A. next week to do a buying trip in preparation for all my 2019 weddings + events. Onto the next & the new! ✨
After a weekend away, one of my favorite things about coming home is seeing all the new blooms in our garden. My white rose bushes still have so many buds and produced this single PINK rose! Farmer friends, how did this happen?! 💖

Without a doubt I'm THIS happy today. **IT'S MY BIRTHDAY!!** These two national treasures- Keikoanne & her mama Betty, were two of the first to send me well wishes & I could not adore them any more. Throughout the year when it's 9:21 (or 5:03, for that matter) it makes me smile. Do you do that for your birthday or area code o'clock too? Probably not. 😂
Whenever possible I like to avoid being the person to pin the groom's boutonniere; It's a quiet moment that forces you to be present and can also be powerfully tender when shared between a mother & her son. Our awesome new neighbors brought home a Bernese puppy and were so sweet to come over and introduce him to us. Ugh, the puppy smell of that little fuzz ball! I thought that was the highlight of my day, but psych! I started kindergarten in Germany and the thing I remember most from that time aside from the fairs and loading bricks into the trunk of our little sports car so we could cruise down the autobahn, was the garden in the middle of my preschool. You know kindergarten originated in Germany- 'kinder' meaning children and 'garten' meaning garden. I loved spending time in that little garden then & being surrounded by plants still brings me such comfort today. This shot was captured by @krisleboeuf during a recent botanical dye workshop with an incredible teacher @nettle_textiles in an idyllic garden @wittefarm 🌿😌🌿
Every year I buy a few more speciality plants for my garden, though I leave the heavy lifting to @wittefarm @farmette_ & @cathyscutflowers Shopping for dahlias this week and dreaming of '19 color but in my heart I know white roses will always, always be the staple in my yard. ♥️
As a kid I collected small things: miniature dice, stickers, Swarovski crystal animals, little shells... The smaller and the more intricate, the better! Over the years I misplaced most of those tiny treasures but these days I obsess over boutonnieres. Mini bridal bouquets with delicate details? Makes so much sense! 💕
As a Florist, weddings are... fulfilling beyond measure; I always over shop for flowers, cut from my yard for boutonnieres & drive at l e a s t 10 miles below the speed limit when I'm headed to a venue on the big day. It's my weekly clients though, and travel, and collaborations (like this one with @brandynicholsphoto ) where I get to really stretch my creative legs and I need that! Six or so more weddings until the new year and tons of inspiration in-between. ♥️
